"In a world where you can be anything, BE KIND!"
Latoya Alston is a graduate of East Carolina University. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and Master of Arts in Sociology from ECU. She went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling-Marriage and Family from Liberty University and is currently working on her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at East Carolina. She is an Instructor, Author, Entrepreneur, Academic Advisor, and Director of Prevention Education.
She is a survivor of domestic violence and is passionate about helping men and women find their voice. She understands the importance of providing a space that is able to facilitate the healing of the whole person-spirit, mind, and body. Her educational background and life experiences have created an undying passion for encouraging and inspiring people to become their best selves. She has set out to become the person for other people that she needed in her younger years!
In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family. She is an auntie-mom of two amazing children- Mariah and Christian. She enjoys watching a good movie, is obsessed with Matlock, Diagnosis Murder, Walker, Texas Ranger, A Different World, 227, Amen, and a host of other "throwback shows", playing Mario Kart, and going to the arcade. A good beach and 75 degree weather is also something that makes her truly happy; however, if she could be any where in the world right now, she would choose to be right where she is- surrounded by the people that she loves.
Her life is what she calls, “imperfectly perfect.”
